Les prépositions ne se choisissent pas par logique mais par collocation : on depend on, on est responsible for, on complies with, on est eligible for, une chose est subject to. La partie 5 du TOEIC y consacre plusieurs questions dans chaque forme du test. Ce sont les questions les plus rapides une fois les associations apprises, et les plus coûteuses tant qu'elles ne le sont pas.
